Let's talk dishwashers

On mother's Day of all days our Dishwasher broke again. When we bought our wonderful house just over a year ago. We new we we had to have one of the oldest running dishwashers on record. The original dishwasher to our 30 year old house. We new that sometime when there was money we were going to replace it but why then when it stilled did it's job. I broke down last fall and we spent $100 to have it fixed my our home warranty company. I really had thought that they would replace it. So of course it broke down again this time I am not going to pay another $100 to have them only fix it. Why keep putting money in to a thing that is dead.
Before my Dishwasher broke down I used to dream about having 2 dishwashers as with our family size we are running the thing 2 times a day at least and some days I run it 3 to 4 times a day. I had even went to lengths to see what and how I could do that. Graciously my husband offered to do the dishes Sunday as it was Mother's day. Then every day since I sit the girls down for lunch and why they are eating I wash away. Today I had 179 pieces to wash. Yesterday I thought how bad it was and all negative today it gave me a little reflection time after the girls were down and playing. In today's world we are always on the go and to busy to "stop and smell the roses" or in my case the dish soap. As I finished up washing the dishes I realized that the time it took me to wash and dry the dishes all 179 pieces of which 4 bottles and 3 sippy cups. I realized that it really does not take much more time to wash by had as it does to load the dishwasher. The only difference is that I have to wash and put them away and normally it is my kids that do the dishes.
So yes some day I would love to have a new dishwasher to clean the dishes. But for now my hands work just as fast at cleaning the dishes as the dishwasher. I must say I am betting that I can wash all the dishes faster than my hubby could load the dishes washer. Shhh don't tell him but the hour it takes him to load he could have washed them faster and been done with it.
Ok So I was going to have the 2 pictures at the top of the page down here at the bottom but my computer or blogspot don't like me. No matter how many times I hit ctrl "V" it does not work. So I am done. With it.
I will do my best to smile as I wash dishes into the summer as I know that they are for my family. Maybe the money will come to buy one before but the time it takes to wash is not as bad as I thought so I will turn my :( into a :) after all.
May we all stop and smell the roses and realize that it is no so bad every once in a while to step back in time and do things the old fashion way.

As a mom of 5 unique fun kids. Sometimes I have to admit I am forgetful. Or my mind gets on one track. Well last week this happened to me. Have you even been on the way home from the store and not even remember turning the corner to go up the street to you house. You just put your self in auto pilot. Last Monday was the first day of crazy baseball schedule. So as excited as an be we all went to Madison's first baseball game. After the game ended we all loaded up in the van yes all 5 kids loaded into the van to head home. As soon as I started to drive away I remembered I was supposed to wait for the next game to collect Miles Baseball uniform for his game on Tuesday. So I turned around and we waited. Well of course with 5 kids sitting in the car at least one will scream they have to go to the bathroom. So I sent Madison with Marcus to the little blue outhouse that is by the ball field. Madison came back about the same time Miles coach showed up got the uniform and headed home, in auto pilot. Started baths, worked on packing bow orders and then called and called for Marcus as it was his turn to take a bath. We searched the whole house, the backyard and even the park just a few houses up the street. Marcus was no where to be found. All were wondering where had he gone???? Then all of the sudden my heart sank. I realized I had done the unthinkable. I had left him in the little blue out house on the side of the road. If it would not have been that we were doing baths it could have been longer. But yes Marcus was left for 45 minutes. I dashed to the car and speed to the park, sorry officer I was a little worried. My mind kept going to is he crying, did he try to walk home. Will he be mad at me? Is he still there. That 7 minute ride was one of the longest 7 minutes in my life. But when I got to the park and saw him laughing at me as I drove up relief swept across my face and body. He was safe and he was sound. Of all my kids I think he took it best being left. He told me of stepping out of the out-house to see the van driving down the street running after it. Then going across the street to one our our friends houses to try to call us but they were not home. So he just went to the play ground and played with some of the kids who were playing. Waiting for us to realize that we had left him. I am so proud of him that he did not leave and try to walk home. I still can not believe that I am one of those mom's that left a child somewhere. Just had to share my redneck moment with all my friends and family.

Finally an Update

Madison crashed out after a long day. This is how I feel about this last month. I think I could sleep for a month. To bad baseball season has only just begin. Don't know why it came in sideways but Miles Bday. Rollerblades and a ramp to crash and try to break a bone on this summer.
Helping dady fix the sink.
These days you can find Mylee almost anywhere she can climb. She loves to climb up on to the couch so she can crawl over the end tables and get to Mom's craft stuff. She is a hand ful for sure. So ready for her to walk so she can play more outside with her siblings.
Madison's First Baseball practice. Mylee did what she does best in her carseat for a long period of time.
Ready to hung Easter Eggs at the City Easter Egg Hunt.
Helping rip out the carpet. A lot of work.
Mason's 2 colors. He is doing Mario of course
Miles helping get the paint on the walls
These are the 2 colors Madison picked for her side of the room. Looks nice with her new bedset
Spring Pictures. Some turned out really good. Others. were OK. 5 Kids and pictures can be a real treat.
"I HAVE HAD IT " Mylee was done. When she is done she is done. So no pictures with big sister this time.
With all the crazy stuff going on this week I had to make and fill 11 orders and still have a few more to fill this wek. This is one of my faves from last week. Interchangeable ladybug bow. So much fun to make.
Mylee's new face she loves to make. The little stinker. Yes her toung hangs out 90% of the time.
Mason's cupcakes
Marcus' first Pinewood Derby. You all remember the days. He was so excited. He took 3rd for the wolves. So that means
We got the privliges of spending Most the day Saturday at the Mall letting him race in Districts
Mason's Frid
Walk of a proud scout
Thanks Mylee. She took a great nap
Madison and the rest passing time with the coloring books and treats I brought. You can never be to prepared to spend 4+ hours in a Mall with your kids. Sprised to see so many come with nothing for their little ones to do.
Last race for Marcus. Next year he hopes to win a little more, but it was fun for him and a great learning experience for all.
