YELLOWSTONE AND FAMILY part 1

Tetons.
  • When Nana and Papa told us that while Chad, Laura and kids were here they wanted to go to Yellowstone, I was excited to go to. It had been well over 15 years since I had been to Yellowstone, And Jim had not camped in Yellowstone since he was a kid too. So with 4 kids in tow excited about all the wonders of Yellowstone we were off. After lots of construction and a little girl begging for a potty stop (we could not in the construction as there was no turn offs) We made it to our home away from home Grant Village around noon time. With camp all set up by 1:30 we were ready to go for a drive to explore why we waited for the rest of the gang to show up. Just as we were loading up the rest of the gang showed up. Thank goodness we were not gone.
Papa proceeded to spend the next 2 hours trying to get his rather tall/large 5th wheel camper parked. After sticking it in one camp spot he decided to graciously let Jim (a professional truck driver) park it in the new camping site. So for nearly 2 hours they moved logs, placed wood to go up on others and managed to get it unstuck and parked in the next camping site. WOW. To think that we almost missed this fun/stressed filled 2 hours.
I think that Chad was kinda glad we were there so he could take the sidelines and watch the fun unfold.

The only form of entertainment why the Adults work. They used my keys and clip them selves together. They just met for the first time in 3 years and you would think that they had been daily friends. How cute
After a long time of parking the camper, it was time to see something. So why the rest of the people set up tents and finished setting up their camps we went for a short drive to smell the sights of Yellowstone. What a fun time.
After a quick dinner of Chicken Taco soup we were able to take a quick walk down to the lake and do what else than throw rocks in the water. How extremely entertaining for little kids. Until the giant mosquitoes came out and we ran up the hill to camp again.
All in all the first day of camping in Yellowstone had is fun moments, stressful moments and even stinky moments. Only in Yellowstone.
