Every year in the Moffat House, right before school starts we have a school fashion show. Letting the kids try on all their new school clothes. As most of it they were more than likely not with mom when it was purchased. It gives them a chance to show off, and get excited for the up coming school year. This years fashion show took place a day earlier than I had planned, but the kids had seen me getting the clothes out of bins and begged to try on their new clothes. So on a Whim we had our '09 fashion show. Staring Madison, Mason, Marucs, and Miles Moffat. Here of sum of the fun shots from the night. WOW not expecting this

The boys came running in wanting to show us a suprise out side. I was not expecting what came next my 3 year old daughter riding Marcus' old bide with no training wheels. Jim then hurried to take her training wheels off her bike. She did not like riding hers with out training wheels. His must be a little stiffer. Poor Mason he still has training wheels on his. He is no where near riding with out training wheels. I don't think he really cares right now maybe in a few more years. I guess she can say her big brothers helped her start learning to ride a bike with out training wheels. Daddy is still refining the skills. We will have to see how it all works out camping this weekend with no training wheels. She threw them a way on trash day so we don't have them any more. Look at picture at Mason's feet he walk on his toes. How funny.

Slide of Yellowstone.

YELLOWSTONE AND FAMILY part 1

Tetons.
  • When Nana and Papa told us that while Chad, Laura and kids were here they wanted to go to Yellowstone, I was excited to go to. It had been well over 15 years since I had been to Yellowstone, And Jim had not camped in Yellowstone since he was a kid too. So with 4 kids in tow excited about all the wonders of Yellowstone we were off. After lots of construction and a little girl begging for a potty stop (we could not in the construction as there was no turn offs) We made it to our home away from home Grant Village around noon time. With camp all set up by 1:30 we were ready to go for a drive to explore why we waited for the rest of the gang to show up. Just as we were loading up the rest of the gang showed up. Thank goodness we were not gone.
Papa proceeded to spend the next 2 hours trying to get his rather tall/large 5th wheel camper parked. After sticking it in one camp spot he decided to graciously let Jim (a professional truck driver) park it in the new camping site. So for nearly 2 hours they moved logs, placed wood to go up on others and managed to get it unstuck and parked in the next camping site. WOW. To think that we almost missed this fun/stressed filled 2 hours.
I think that Chad was kinda glad we were there so he could take the sidelines and watch the fun unfold.
Tess and Ester trying to help calm Nana's nervers
The only form of entertainment why the Adults work. They used my keys and clip them selves together. They just met for the first time in 3 years and you would think that they had been daily friends. How cute
After a long time of parking the camper, it was time to see something. So why the rest of the people set up tents and finished setting up their camps we went for a short drive to smell the sights of Yellowstone. What a fun time.
After a quick dinner of Chicken Taco soup we were able to take a quick walk down to the lake and do what else than throw rocks in the water. How extremely entertaining for little kids. Until the giant mosquitoes came out and we ran up the hill to camp again.
All in all the first day of camping in Yellowstone had is fun moments, stressful moments and even stinky moments. Only in Yellowstone.

Moffat Family Reunion '09

Family is one of the main reasons we moved back to Wyoming just over a year ago. The kids really enjoy being able to play with their cousins when we go to Star Valley.
One of the great things about Family is you don't have to put a face on or try to impress them. They know you are your good day and your bad days. We love spending time with them.
Another great thing about extended family is that when you see them they are all over your kids. Even willing to bounce with them on the Trampoline. What a blast.
Because of the choice to live so close to family, our kids will be blessed with wonderful memories of their Aunts and Uncles and cousins. We love it when my kids faces light up when they see Grandma or and Aunt. They have over the last year been able to get to know them and trust them.
This year when Jim's Family was able to get together in August the kids had a blast hiking up to the spring and playing at Amber's.
Jim had fun hiking with the boys and the rest of the extended family why mom stayed with Madison sleeping in Grandma's truck.
The Group that survived the hike.
Learning young, how to shuck corn. Yum yum
The family. We were a strange little band of characters trudging through life sharing diseases and toothpaste, coveting one another's desserts, hiding shampoo, borrowing money, locking each other out of our rooms, inflicting pain and kissing to heal it in the same instant, loving, laughing, defending, and trying to figure out the common thread that bound us all together. -- Erma Bombeck Just to think that all of this would not be if 2 people would not have fallen in love. Thank you Mom Moffat. What a fun weekend.

Round 2

After Mason, getting sick last Monday, we thought that we had dodged the bullet when Thursday came and no one else had blessed us with throw-up. Well, you can only dodge the bullet for so long. Last night our oldest, Miles decided to bless us with round 2 all over every blanket in his bedroom and down the hallway. Question: Why do kids run to their parents when they are sick. So after stopping our date night Movies (Fast and the Furious) we proceeded to dispose of all that he was able to so powerfully hit. Made him a bed on the kitchen floor and proceeded to finish watching our movie, with minor stops when he would proceed to try to empty his stomach in the trash can. Jim and I thought that we were all clear when we went to bed. Boy were we wrong. It was princess Madison's turn. Being three, she likes to share all over her mom and our bed. But she made her mom proud when we made her a bed in our master bathroom and told her that if you has to throw-up again she needs to do it in the toilet. A few minutes later a 3 year old found the toilet. I can't get my 5,7 or 9 year old to do as well as she did. She is so excited that she gets a dollar now. When our kids are sick we offer them a dollar if they can make it in the toilet or trash can every time. It is money well spent if you consider all the laundry I am washing today. As Miles and Madison managed to hit 3 bedspreads, 2 different sheet sets, 7 different kids blankets, 3 different shoes and of course mom and their PJ's. What a fun bless night :D

Moffat paint crew '09

It has only taken me a year to finish painting the shed. I painted the side by the fence, but at that time was not able to finish the rest. So today I decided to finish it before we sell the trailer. So with the help of the 3 youngest, I was off to paint.
Madison loved trying to paint like mommy. I showed them how too, but I am not sure they did it like I showed them.
With only 2 brushes for the kids, Marcus help coach Mason on his painting until it was his turn.
All in all it took about 2 hours to paint the shed and clean up. Miles helped mom finish the front.
When mom was spraying off the water, the kids wanted to be sprayed off too. So why not, they needed cleaned off too. Plus the grass was in need of water so I told them to stay on the grass and we all had a blast. The shed is 90% painted and the grass is watered and the kids had fun. A job well done. I think I will wait to paint the trim when they are not around, I am not sure I could use their help on it.
